Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides an increase in the linearity of any stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways through the use of upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged to increase their stats.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout the world as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are the items that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others give a general bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment, and offer less than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools, and provide numerous benefits, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components required for a given item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The price of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increases. However you can cut down on the cost by purchasing upgrades from a seller, or trading them with other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded using an upgrade to a prefix like an insignia or a rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades add an adjective to the item's name, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them even more effective in conveying messages across language barriers. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph has a range of values that it could increase a stat's value, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the highest value that a glyph can increase a stat's value by, not the amount that it will actually increase it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you are enchanting it to.
The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you wish to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards, therefore it should not be considered a loss.
If you take an item off after putting a glyph on it, the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also place an inscription to your equipment to increase its value. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly rather than all at once. This is helpful for those who take lots of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for item upgrades , but they can be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will change the appearance of the window for the item, and allow up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is by the rarity of the item and also its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.
In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. A reroll will roll the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but users should be aware that it could reduce the total ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls used to increase it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective with ring items and Diadems that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.
The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items that allows them to change their build without wasting time and effort. However paying for rerolls is not something that the developers would like to implement at this time in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add a race change potion in the future.
Leveling
There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of upgrading any stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading that increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. In addition there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but will be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading your items it is essential to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases the best roll will result from glyphs, but there are also possibilities for greater or special rolls. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a specific kind of item, it has a chance of getting a higher level.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive, particularly if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional effect. This will provide a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, though. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.
The iLevel will also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an exceptional one is likely to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
